Throat of these Hours is an artistic workshop in collectively conceiving, making and enacting experimental radio stations in Vadsø, Norway during Finnmark Flicker, an experimental radio station conceived and curated by Zhanna Guzenko in this northernmost Norwegian municipality.
The workshop title comes from the American poet and activist Muriel Rukeyser (1913–1980), whose poetics of communication are accompanying us as we transition, over five nights, into midnight sun.
The throat is the threshold between interior bodily and psychological spaces, connected to breath, vibration and skin, and externalized vocal expressions, whether solo or collective, that travel the air and light, reaching beyond our bodies.
Working with various scales of FM and online transmission, our radio stations facilitate encounters for co-creating and mis/communicating.
We are transmitting on FM and here at this online stream at select times.
